वाईफाई (वायरलेस फिडेलिटी)एक प्रकार से वायरलेस नेटवर्क प्रोटोकोल होता है जो विभिन्न प्रकार के इलेक्ट्रॉनिक डिवाइसों में जैसे कंप्यूटर, मोबाइल ,लैपटॉप को बिना किसी वायर के इंटरनेट कनेक्शन यार डाटा ट्रांसफर को स्थापित करता है यह एक प्रकार का लोकल एरिया कनेक्शन होता है जिसकी रेंज बहुत दूर तक नहीं होती है यह लगभग 50 से 100 मीटर तक कनेक्शन को स्थापित रखता है। इसी को हम वाईफाई कहते हैं।
WiFi की खोज किसने किया
Wifi की खोज सन् 1991 में डॉ. जॉन ओ'सलीवन (ऑस्ट्रेलिया) ने दीएथेल्म ओस्ट्री,टेरेंस पर्सिवल के मदद से किया था।

वाई फाई का पूरा नाम वायरलेस फिडेलिटी (wireless Fidelity) होता है।
